Sue Voysey, who has been buying Europa for her dogs for about 16 years now, recently wrote to me to tell me about their latest expedition. The following was the first I heard and I am sure it will grab your interest just as it grabbed mine! Needless to say we are delighted to be sponsoring her and her family and, of course, Rosie her current rescue border collie. Helping great charities and having a good time with family and dog - what could be better? Read on and then follow the links to see if you can add your support - either by joining them for a day or pledging. Follow progress day by day on our daily progress page - with pictures! More information on the charities is also linked so you can see what a wonderful choice Sue has made to celebrate this milestone in her career.
This year I'm delighted to be celebrating 20 years as a member of the Hallé Orchestra and to mark this occasion Steve and I, our 2 boys and Rosie the collie are going to walk the Cotswold Way.
We start at Bath Abbey and finish in Chipping Camden, 102 miles later (probably twice that in Rosie's case!), walking through some of the most beautiful scenery in England.
We would also welcome anyone who would like to join us for a day. In true musician style I'd love it to be as sociable an occasion as possible!
My aim is to raise at least £1500 to be divided equally between my two chosen charities, Dogs for the Disabled and Jessie's Fund. Just £750 will buy a specially bred puppy that is trained and then matched to a disabled person's specific needs, whilst for Jessie's Fund the same amount will buy a portable instrument kit for a carer or therapist to take into a children's hospice.
